Electronic Forms for State EMS Directors

UNC at Chapel Hill Emergency Medical Center recently had a requirement to gather information from EMS Directors across the USA. They did not want to use paper forms and surveys to gather the information due to the costs and inefficiencies involved in handling paper-based information. They evaluated their options and selected a solution from MobileDataforce that would enable them to gather the necessary information using handheld computers and electronic forms.

The project involved designing electronic forms using MobileDataforce's Intercue Mobility Suite, and publishing the electronic forms to handheld computers based on the Palm operating system. The electronic forms were distributed to EMS Directors across the USA. Once the electronic forms had been filled out, the information was stored in XML files that were uploaded and integrated into a database application at UNC for analysis. The XML file format made the integration of data into a database application fast and easy.
