Truman Medical Centers Streamline Recruiting Process With Kenexa Recruiter®

WAYNE, PA - Kenexa®, a global leader in talent acquisition and retention solutions, today announced that Kansas City, Missouri-based Truman Medical Centers (TMC) has implemented Kenexa Recruiter®, Kenexa's Web-based enterprise applicant tracking solution. Truman Medical Centers include two independent hospitals and a behavioral health network, collectively employing more than 3,300 people.

Jim Jenkins, Director of HR at Truman Medical Centers said, "Prior to implementing Kenexa Recruiter, we relied on spreadsheets for tracking candidates, which was extremely time consuming. We identified that an applicant tracking solution would help streamline the process, as well as deliver other benefits. Yet, we didn't want to commit internal IT resources so we needed a comprehensive hosted offering." He continued, "After reviewing approximately 16 vendors, we found that none of them could compare to Kenexa's ease of use, reliability and responsiveness. Plus, Kenexa's ability to customize their solution to match our unique hiring needs, coupled with their credibility in the market made Kenexa Recruiter the one for us."

Troy Kanter, President of Kenexa's Human Capital Management division, said, "In Truman Medical Centers' business, it's critical that they attract applicants who are dedicated to upholding its commitment to outstanding patient care. With Kenexa Recruiter, Truman Medical Centers is now better positioned to easily identify highly qualified candidates while controlling recruiting costs."

Jenkins added, "We hire an estimated 650 employees each year. In order to attract top talent and remain competitive, we need to be able to respond to applicants quickly. Plus, since we implemented Kenexa Recruiter in late January, we have already realized significant business benefits and anticipate that the Kenexa solution will help reduce our time-to-hire by as much as 50 percent."

The American Hospital Association reports that 125,000 nursing positions are unfilled in hospitals across the country. And the Health Resources and Services Administration suggests that if the current trend continues, the staffing shortage is expected to grow to 29 percent by 2020, a shortfall of 800,000 nurses.

"Hospitals across the nation continue to have challenges recruiting nurses," Jenkins concluded. "With Kenexa Recruiter in place, we have committed to screening resumes within 48 hours, which will help us in hiring those nurses and healthcare professionals seeking employment more efficiently."
