The TIMS Diver is a data mining solution developed by Computers Unlimited in cooperation with a third-party software developer, Dimensional Insight. It offers multi-dimensional analysis of various data sources such as the TIMS system, ODBC-enabled data sources like SQL Server, flat-file data or any other data source. The possibility exists that data from multiple computer systems could be viewed together in a single data "model" for enterprise reporting.

In a standard TIMS Diver installation, data is extracted from the TIMS system at pre-defined intervals and processed into data models. These models are "mined" interactively with the Diver application locally across a local area network or remotely via thin client by the end user on a PC. The "diving" can take the form of a table of data, report, pie-chart, line graph or even maps organizing your data geographically. Flexibility of the Diver interface is a key component in obtaining the data quickly and logically.

The goal of the TIMS Diver solution is to provide an intuitive, mouse-driven reporting and data analysis interface for any end-user to use that lessens the need for a technical source to write and manage the report or query creation process. Analysis on a data model is performed with a mouse and is not confined to specific queries. The end-user can create unique "dives" in this multi-dimensional data model environment that can be refined instantly if necessary. This allows the person needing the data to obtain it interactively without the time and assistance of a technical resource. The user requesting information is viewing the data from alternate viewpoints offering perspectives not easily available from standard paper reports or single purpose data queries.

The TIMS Diver solution has standard models available for TIMS system information pools like Customer Sales, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, CMN and Authorization processing, Rental Equipment, Claims Validation and data management. The product is implemented on the Windows 95/98/NT/2000 platform and will run on other operating systems if necessary depending on your organizational requirements.
