When my wife, Janet and I started Snug Seat in 1987...we had no idea that our little company would become one of North America's leading suppliers of products for children with special needs, and the world leader in special car seats. Snug Seat achieved this position through the hard work of a great staff and the fortuitous linking with R82 A/S, a Danish company. In 1996, R82 appointed Snug Seat as the exclusive U.S. distributor of its highly innovative and exceptional quality pediatric products. The relationship worked so well that R82 purchased part of Snug Seat in early 1998, establishing our combined companies as the world's leading provider of pediatric durable medical products.

The most exciting news about our combined companies is coming in late 1999 and early 2000, when we launch four more new items into our growing product line. In November, we will introduce R82's Flamingo Shower/Commode Chair and Tiger 2000 Stroller, and in February 2000 their new Panda Seating System pictured to left. We will also be introducing a new walking product from Snug Seat which will compliment R82's Pony Gait Trainer, and the recently introduced Bronco, the outdoor version of the Pony.

We just added the WEEGO Car Bed to our car seat product line, which now includes the Snug Seat 1, Snug Seat 2, Snug Seat 1000, Spelcast, and Gorilla car seats. We designed the WEEGO for medically fragile children who must be transported in a prone or supine position. The unit accommodates children up to 21 lbs. and 29" tall.

In January 1999, Snug Seat also became the sole U.S. distributor for ETAC, a wonderful Swedish company that manufactures some of the world's finest adult wheelchairs, walkers, shower and bath aids, and aids for daily living. Like R82, ETAC products are well known for their exceptional quality and design. ETAC supplies us with primarily adult products, but they also manufacture the Sting, one of the best pediatric wheelchairs on the market, the Mobile Tripp pediatric shower chair, and the MINOVA pediatric rollator.

Snug Seat is based in North Carolina, and we sell our products through approximately 1,500 dealers and distributors located throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific Rim. You will find a list of our current dealers in this web site. Do not hesitate to call us if your dealer's name does not appear, but please be aware that many of our products require technical expertise not available at all dealerships.
