The Nocturnal Airway Patency Appliance (NAPA) is designed to reduce objective and subjective sleep apnea and snoring. The product is designed for individuals with nonobstructive sleep apnea, causing the tongue to be placed in a manner that does not obstruct the airway of the user. Additionally, the appliance works by pulling the jaw and tongue forward in order to open up the air passage. In a patient with OSA, this has the benefit of allowing air to flow more freely so that that person can sleep better without fear of asphyxia.
