Safe Transfer Device

The Safe Lift'r is a device that simplifies transfers of individuals from sitting to standing positions, or vice versa, and is designed to protect the caregiver from back strain injuries that occur when helping patients stand or sit. The product allows both caregiver and patient to maintain optimal body positions and to use safe body mechanics throughout the transfer process, thereby minimizing potential exposure to injury. The device is suited for use in the home or in any setting in which a caregiver helps a patient change his or her position.

The device can assist individuals who use walkers or canes; those who use wheelchairs but are able to stand during a transfer; and by individuals who do not require a walking aid but have difficulty when trying to sit or stand. The product is also used to help an individual enter or exit a car, and it is constructed of high-quality nylon and plastic materials to withstand years of constant usage and pressure. The device includes a padded waist belt to prevent skin irritation or injury caused by repeated rubbing, and a padded grip bar that provides a hand-hold for the patient during the transfer.
