Prior to joining the firm, Parver was the President of Parver & Associates, her own successful healthcare law and consulting firm. From 1990 through 1994, she served as President and CEO of the National Association for Medical Equipment Services (NAMES). During her tenure as NAMES CEO, Parver created and successfully implemented a major national multi-phased public education and awareness campaign, designed specifically to alter the negative image of a home healthcare industry segment that was besieged by claims of fraudulent and abusive activities.
From 1986 to 1989, Parver was the associate general counsel for the National Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (NARF), providing advice and legal support to this Washington, D.C. association representing the nation's rehabilitation hospitals. In addition to providing in-house legal support for NARF's regulatory activities, she participated in the government relations team that secured passage of several major pieces of legislation on behalf of rehabilitation providers. Parver also was a healthcare associate attorney at Dickstein Shapiro & Morin and Pierson Ball & Dowd in the early-to-mid '80s and, prior to her legal career, practiced the profession of physical therapy for 15 years.
A frequent lecturer, Parver has appeared numerous times before the media, Congressional Committees and Subcommittees, administrative agencies, and White House officials, representing the interests of healthcare providers, manufacturers, corporations, and people with disabilities, and serves on the boards of various professional foundations and organizations. She also speaks frequently before healthcare industry groups and associations on a wide range of national issues facing the healthcare community, including practical advice on how to successfully comply with the many federal legislative and regulatory requirements facing healthcare providers and manufacturers today.
