Medtrade Welcome Reception And Awards Ceremony To Celebrate The HME Industry's Best-Of-The-Best
Atlanta - Members of the home medical equipment industry will gather on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Medtrade 2005 to network with colleagues and celebrate the companies and individuals who have made positive contributions to the home healthcare industry. Medtrade, the largest educational conference and exposition for the home medical equipment industry, will take place October 18 – 20, 2005, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
The Medtrade Welcome Reception and Awards Ceremony will begin Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m., following the close of the exhibit hall. The event will be held in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom at the Congress Center and is open to all attendees and exhibitors. Tickets for the event are $30, which includes entertainment, food and beverages. This year's event will also include four food stations prepared by the chefs from participating Medtrade host hotels. The proceeds from the reception will be donated to the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta.
"Medtrade is pleased to sponsor the HME Excellence Awards and the HomeCaring Awards," says Art Ellis, show director for Medtrade. "The dedication of the individuals and companies who participate in these awards is evidence of the value the HME industry provides to the entire healthcare continuum. Attendees will not want to miss this special event."
During the reception, the HME Excellence Awards and the HomeCaring Awards will be presented. The HME Excellence Awards, presented by HME News, are given to the top providers in the industry in the areas of HME, respiratory and rehab. The HomeCaring Awards, presented by HomeCare magazine, recognize individual contributions to the HME industry. Both awards are co-sponsored by Medtrade and endorsed by the American Association for Homecare.
"Receiving the award for Best Respiratory Provider in 2004 was an honor for our company. We were truly pleased to be recognized among our peers for the service we provide," says Bob Cucuel, chief executive officer of Air Products Healthcare, Conshohocken, Pa. "I applaud Medtrade and the sponsors of the HME Excellence Awards and the HomeCaring Awards for their support of the industry and encourage Medtrade attendees to take part in this important event that celebrates the positive side of HME."
The HME Excellence Awards recognize companies that excel in all areas of their business.
"We've designed the HME Excellence Awards with one goal in mind: to identify the HME industry's best providers," says Mike Moran, editor of HME News. "To do that, the selection process is intentionally rigorous. If you are a finalist, not only do you excel when it comes to community involvement, quality control and staff development, but your company also has demonstrated superior financial performance. It's a true honor and something to be proud of."
"HME Excellence Award winners can feel good that their companies are leaders in the HME industry," said Moran. "Past winners are good examples that doing it right, both operationally and clinically, is profitable and worth recognition."
The HomeCaring Awards are given to individuals for distinguished service to the home medical equipment community. The awards are proof the HME industry is founded on those whose generosity of spirit and unwavering commitment embodies the caring that HME is all about, says Gail Walker, editor of HomeCare magazine.
"HomeCare is proud to acknowledge those whose tireless efforts serve to further the goals of providers and the industry at large," she says. "The HomeCaring Awards are only a small token in recognizing the contributions of so many individuals whose exemplary service has made the home care community a better place and who challenge the rest of us to do better."
Judges for the HomeCaring Awards include: Jerold S. Cohen, president, Caesar Cohen Ltd.; Louis Feuer, president, Dynamic Seminars & Consulting; Miriam Lieber, president, Lieber Consulting; Simon Margolis, vice president of clinical and professional development, National Seating & Mobility, and past-president, Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA); Sheldon "Shelly" Prial, Prial Consulting; Wallace Weeks, president, Weeks Group; and Colette Weil, managing director, Summit Marketing.
