iHealthHome Teams With National MS Society To Improve Services To Individuals Living With Multiple Sclerosis

The partnership will allow data driven quality outcomes to help people affected by MS live their best lives.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) - iHealthHome, an innovator in care management software, announces a partnership with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to improve data collection and analytics in the organization's endeavor to deliver high-quality case management services to people living with multiple sclerosis who are dealing with complex issues that affect their ability to live safely and independently in the community. The software will help the Society better serve the MS community and provide the tools to more easily expand its services to the nearly 1 million people living with MS in the U.S.

iHealthHome is an ideal partner and was selected from a national search of software companies that provide similar products. iHealthHome is a Seattle based software company co-founded by CEO Dew-Anne Langcaon, a healthcare entrepreneur with over 25 years of healthcare leadership and care management experience. "At iHealthHome our mission is to make it easy for home and community-based organizations to adopt strategies to digitize data collection, automate the workflows and actively use data driven process improvement to enhance the healthcare experience for medically complex individuals," said Langcaon. "The National MS Society is a leader in coordinated care as a national standard and we are privileged to be a part of their innovative program to close the gaps in care for those with MS."

An implementation team comprised of iHH leadership and National MS Society case management specialists is currently working to customize the tool for the unique work of the National MS Society. Areas of focus include data storage, reporting and analytics. This partnership will enable the Society to track overall needs, provide the ability to make connections to resources to meet those needs, and identify gaps in resources to support independent living for those living with MS.

"People living with MS are sometimes faced with complex and challenging situations that threaten their ability to live independently," said Cyndi Zagieboylo, the Society's President and CEO. "By partnering with iHealthHome, we can gather data to closely monitor our efforts to provide people living with MS access to experts on services and resources to meet their individual needs where they live. Our mission at the Society is to ensure people affected by MS can live their best lives and helping people live as independently as possible goes a long way to achieving that goal."

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms vary from person to person and range from numbness and tingling, to walking difficulties, fatigue, dizziness, pain, depression, blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. A recent study led by the National MS Society estimates that nearly 1 million people are living with MS in the United States; twice as many than previously thought.
