Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) - ADVACARE RECEIVES AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN RESPIRATORY CARE

For the third consecutive year, a Pittsburgh home health care provider has been nationally recognized for continuing excellence in providing quality respiratory services to its patients. AdvaCare Home Services received the 2015 Quality Respiratory Care Recognition award for exceptional quality respiratory standards and patient care by The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

AdvaCare President Tammy Zelenko attributes the distinction to the “respiratory team’s continuous commitment to provide outstanding clinical care and education to our patients.”

The award is bestowed upon the top respiratory care companies. The AARC started the award program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their health care. The program initially enrolled hospitals that agreed to uphold patient safety by adhering to strict criteria governing respiratory care services. Home health organizations and long-term care facilities were subsequently added to the program.

AdvaCare is a home medical equipment and respiratory company that has been in the durable medical equipment field since 1996. It recently launched a Patient Partner Program http://www.advacarehsppp.com that’s getting recognition across the country. A feature story detailing the program was recently picked up online by nearly 1,500 media outlets with a combined audience of nearly 60 million.

The program aims to help reduce the overall healthcare costs for patients by reducing the number of readmissions, emergency room visits, and additional health complications that can occur during the hospital-to-home transition. It is accountable with helping to bridge the gap in care with lowering hospital readmission penalties while providing better outcomes for patients.
