Facts and Comparisons
For more than fifty years, Facts and Comparisons has been dedicated to the compilation of unbiased, essential and appropriate drug information. With the explosion of new drugs and research, it is almost impossible for a busy medical professional to study and compile the most current and detailed information. Fortunately, healthcare professionals can rely on publications from Facts and Comparisons as their primary source for drug information. Thousands of articles, drug package inserts, lectures, and other relevant data are culled and edited year round by a professional panel of pharmacists, physicians and nurses to provide the most current drug information.
Facts and Comparisons, the premier publisher of drug information, was founded in 1945, when pharmacist Erwin K. Kastrup began developing comparative tables of like drug products for physicians and pharmacists. The company was incorporated and the first book, a 200 page loose-leaf, was copyrighted in 1947.
Since that time Facts and Comparisons and its publications have become synonymous with drug information that is accurate, comparative, comprehensive, authoritative, timely and unbiased. The flagship publication, Drug Facts and Comparisons®, is one of the best selling and most used publications among health care professionals. The drug information library has grown to more than 40 publications, including many which are available in electronic formats.
Facts and Comparisons was a family-owned company until 1981 when it joined the Harper & Row and J.B. Lippincott family. It is now part of Wolters Kluwer nv, a world-wide science/technology/medical publisher which includes such notable medical publishers as Lippincott Williams and Wilkins, Adis Press, Aspen Publishers and Ovid Technologies.
