Enkidu Research produces the Portable IMPACT family of augmentative communication aids. These devices provide synthesized or digitized speech output for individuals with speech impairments. All three devices - Palmtop, Handheld, and Tablet - are dynamic display communication aids with color touchscreens. The Portable IMPACT software allows people with a wide range of disabilities to be able to communicate effectively.

Our corporate mission is to continue to advance the state of the art in augmentative communication. We recognize the potential for technology to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities. We utilize the latest technology in our research of new augmentative techniques and communication interfaces. The results of these studies are continuously being integrated into our Portable IMPACT line of products.
