The NuPulse is a system that simulates the results of a person taking a step which in turn causes a large amount of blood to surge up through the deep veins of the leg to increase blood circulation, reduce edema, and improve wound healing in the lower extremities. The product is beneficial for patients whose blood flow is poor due to disease, which impairs blood flow from the lower extremities.
The system has an air pump connected by tubing to the individual foot wrap that can be used on the right, left, or both feet. Each foot wrap is designed to provide a comfortable fit, with an air bladder that squeezes all around the foot.
The product is indicated as an adjunctive treatment for diabetic-related wounds, to be used along with standard wound care therapies. Therapy decreases wound healing time of most diabetic-related wounds to within 12 weeks, with results noticeable within two weeks of therapy.
