This driver control system utilizes three (3) sensors placed inside a headrest for control of a power wheelchair
This driver control system utilizes three (3) sensors placed inside a headrest for control of a power wheelchair. The sensors mounted inside the right and left wings control movement in those directions. The sensor mounted inside the backpad of the headrest controls movement in the forward or the forward/reverse direction. Veering is accomplished by activating the sensor in the backpad along with either the right or left wing sensor. Because sensors require no pressure to effect activation, the head movement patterns exhibited by many individuals with cerebral palsy that make it impossible for this population to operate a powerchair, usually become a non-factor with this system.
High quads, who have experienced problems or dislike with chin control, sip & puff and other systems, and individuals with neuro-muscular disorders or brain injuries have enjoyed wide success with the ASL Head Array.
It is available in Five (5) standard sizes.
-
1. Junior / curved backpad with curved wings.
2. Junior / curved backpad with straight wings.
3. Pediatric / curved backpad with curved wings.
4. Pediatric / curved backpad with straight wings.
5. Mini / curved backpad with curved wings.
