AccentCare Launches Hurricane Harvey Relief

Showing compassion for compassionate employees

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) - AccentCare, Inc., a nationwide leader in post-acute healthcare, has raised over $56,000 to help employee victims of Hurricane Harvey. Their Texas offices, operating under the name of Texas Home Health, employ almost 6,000 people in Houston and other storm-affected areas of Beaumont, Brenham, College Station, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Houston, Huntsville, Lake Jackson, Victoria and Wharton.

While all offices remain open and continue to care for patients and clients, many employees were personally affected by the hurricane. Nonetheless, all put their personal losses aside to focus on the care of those on their home health, hospice or personal care services. Whether out of their homes, in hotel rooms or from the central call center in Ontario, California, they reached out and connected everywhere they could to help ensure that those professionally depending on them were safe and received the care needed.

“The leadership, caring and dedication of our office directors and staff was amazing,” said Steve Rodgers, CEO of AccentCare. “They are our heroes and deserve our thanks. We want to show them that we are dedicated to getting our peoples’ lives back together, and in doing, that we will not only impact their lives, but allow them to better help the lives of the patients and clients we serve.”

So the company has set out to do just that. Employees have donated over $26,000, matched by the company for a current total of $52,000, to their non-profit organization, the AccentCare Employee Assistance Fund, which provides financial assistance to employees who suffer financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control, such as natural disasters. In addition, employees can donate paid-time-off days to those needing extra time off for hurricane recovery activities.

AccentCare employees in Austin, Dallas and McKinney, Texas, also donated truckloads of food and supplies. Executive leaders of the company personally drove trucks, loaded by employees, to affected office locations on September 6-7 to show their support.

Some of AccentCare’s strategic partners have also made cash and supply contributions equaling more than $4,000.

“We are very grateful to our strategic partners for their support,” said Greg Sheff, Chief Medical Officer. “That speaks volumes about their character and our relationship.”
