The Allsport Ankle® was invented in 1985 and United States Patent(#4,966,134) was issued in 1990. Fifteen years of involvement in competitive sports and a dedicated commitment to quality and excellence have played an important part in developing the Allsport Ankle®.

The original research and development of the Allsport Ankle® came from the physically demanding sport of motocross, and was designed to be used as a piece of equipment. It had to be comfortable and lightweight with a low profile fit to be used inside a motocross boot. Soon the word spread as to the effectiveness of the brace, and athletes from many other sports started using the Allsport Ankle® because of its effectiveness in providing support and impact protection for the ankle.
