VNA Announces Speakers Bureau - Home Health Care Community Presentations

Visiting Nurse Association of Northern NJ offers presentations by expert speakers on home health care planning for the elderly, plus caregiver support and resources.

(PRWEB) - Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA) believes it’s important to educate the community on health care changes and provide information on resources offered through VNA’s programs and services. To that end, they are pleased to announce their Speakers Bureau program, which offers, at no cost, home health care presentations to community groups and organizations throughout Morris and Hunterdon counties.

“The talks we give about home care options have never been timelier. The topic of home care is not just for seniors. There’s strong interest among younger audiences because so many people are assisting their parents and other loved ones,” said Mary Curoski, one of VNA’s Community Outreach Coordinators. “Our presentations include a lot of helpful information that can take the stress out of finding appropriate, high quality care”.

“Going out into the community to educate the public, listen to their concerns and answer their questions is the most rewarding part of my job. I’ve spoken to groups of all sizes at a variety of venues including libraries, corporate Lunch and Learns, churches and senior centers,” said Curoski. “Since our organization has been a provider of home care services and caregiver support programs for over 117 years, we’re happy to inform our community about the resources available to them and help them better understand the options available.”

VNA’s two most requested presentations are “Caring for the Caregiver & VNA Home Care Programs” and “Understanding Hospice and Supportive Care”. During these presentations, attendees learn how to more effectively care for the caregiver, find guidance on how to access grant-funded respite care and receive information on the benefits of home care.

Speakers Bureau presentations can be tailored to meet the needs of virtually any group and range in length from 20 to 45 minutes.
