SHP Launches Home Infusion Solution

New product brings real-time data to help home infusion pharmacies compete in the value-based reimbursement marketplace

Santa Barbara, CA /PRNewswire/ - Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP), the leading provider of data analytics and benchmarking to Home Health agencies and Hospice providers, has expanded its offerings with the release of a new Home Infusion Pharmacy solution.

Responding to the growth of patient population management and alternate payment models, SHP's new suite of reports provides access to benchmarking and real-time data analytics. The reporting structure enables Home Infusion pharmacies to capture daily trends and insights from their clinical, financial, demographic and utilization data. Pharmacies need these comprehensive reports to manage performance and demonstrate value as Home Infusion providers will need to compete based on quality outcomes and pay-for-performance reimbursements.

"We are confident that these new reports will help our Home Infusion customers more effectively use their data to improve performance just as our other solutions do in the Home Health and Hospice markets," emphasized Rob Paulsson, President of SHP.

The new solution follows the data standards recently published by the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA). These new standards bring consistency to the industry and enable comparisons of outcomes and quality metrics.

SHP partnered with Managed Health Care Associates, Inc. (MHA) to develop the new Home Infusion Pharmacy solution. MHA is a leading healthcare services and software company focused on the Home Infusion provider space. Michael J. Sicilian, President of MHA, commented, "SHP is recognized as the absolute leader in the Home Health and Hospice benchmarking and data analytics space. As patient population management reimbursement models continue to develop, risk-bearing entities are looking for data analytic solutions that cross the broad spectrum of post-acute care. Meanwhile healthcare providers need to be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to manage patients through the continuum of care. This new release from SHP will help enable our Home Infusion members and customers to compete in this new model."

SHP's state and national benchmark comparisons give customers a tool that quickly identifies areas for improvement so they can focus their efforts. Pharmacies can filter their reports by date range, payer, pharmacy type, and more. The new solution also allows them to view performance for all pharmacy patients, specialty pharmacy patients, and core home infusion patients only.

Additionally, SHP will continue offering its trusted patient satisfaction survey solution, which it has been providing for more than 15 years, to Home Infusion pharmacies.
