SecureCare Completes Integration Of The First Fully Automated Electronic Fax Record For Home Care Providers

July 10, 2008

Austin, TX - SecureCare Technologies, Inc. a health care information technology company based in Austin, Texas, announced that it has partnered with Thornberry Limited, developer of intelligent clinical management software for homecare, to provide Sfax, the first fully automated electronic fax record, to the home care industry.

Sfax eliminates the entire manual physician order fax operation typically associated with home care providers and replaces it with an easy to use, automated fax system that is integrated within Thornberry's NDoc clinical management software. "Users can expect to realize savings of up to 95 percent in administration time and up to 80 percent of the cost of manual faxing," said Dennis Nasto, CEO and Director of SecureCare Technologies.

Sfax is a bi-directional EFR (electronic faxing record) that enables health care providers to send, receive and manage faxes from any application on any computer with an Internet connection. Its complete integration into the Thornberry system allows the entire workflow process to be managed through Sfax. In addition to automating the task of sending and receiving fax-based communications, the Internet-based fax system meets HIPAA guidelines for electronic exchange of patient health information (PHI). Sfax securely delivers NDoc 485 documents without the need for antiquated printing and other manual processing. All Sfax transmissions are encrypted and a built-in audit and log trail means instant access to data in the event of a Medicare or other audit.

"Sfax is a low-cost solution and requires almost no training, making adoption a painless process. The automation of Sfax and NDoc will change forever how health care document exchange is done today. I can't imagine any home health care provider not wanting to take immediate advantage of this opportunity to impact their bottom line," said Tom Peth, Thornberry president.

"This industry-first integration of Sfax into the Thornberry clinical management software reaffirms our long-term growth strategy of integrating with HIT (health information technology) and EMR (electronic medical record) partners. Through these partnerships, we are now delivering complete workflow and automation solutions that are crucial to improving care, reducing errors and containing costs in the American health care system," Nasto stated. "At Thornberry we are constantly looking for additional ways to help home care agencies and hospices improve their efficiency. Partnering with an industry leader such as SecureCare allows us to deliver that commitment to users of NDoc. We expect a very high adoption rate for Sfax," said Peth.
